Starting with a focus on laptop batteries, Anker has quickly expanded into power banks, chargers, cables, under brands like Soundcore, Eufy, and Nebula. The company gained a strong reputation for blending innovative design, reliability, and competitive pricing, and this has helped them become one of the biggest charging brands in the world. I have been using Anker products for years now and have always looked at them as being a premium brand. I reached out to Anker a little over a month ago and asked them to send me a few products for review, and they were very fast to ship them right to my door. One of those products was the Anker Laptop Power Bank, and man, has this thing gotten some use lately at my house, on the road, and in the woods.

When I first unboxed the Anker Laptop Power Bank, it was a callback to how Apple always packages their products in a sleek cardboard box. This power bank follows suit with its modern, rounded-edge aesthetic that feels premium in hand. At approximately 15.7 × 5.4 × 4.9 cm and weighing 555 grams (1.31 pounds), it’s not the lightest power bank, but it also has a lot of juice. Even though this power bank is a bit heavy, its also very compact. This power bank is also Airplane carry-on approved, and that’s something we can all appreciate when your charging port in your seat is no longer working.
What sets this power bank apart is its dual built-in USB-C cables. One is a retractable 2.3-foot cable with a magnetic end that snaps neatly into the body, preventing tangles, and is apparently rated for over 20,000 retractions. The other is a shorter 0.98-foot cable that doubles as a carrying strap, capable of withstanding over 20,000 bends. While the strap cable occasionally detaches from its clip, it’s a minor inconvenience compared to the convenience of not needing to carry extra cables. The power bank also features a high-resolution LCD display showing real-time battery level, power output, and temperature, which I found incredibly useful for monitoring performance on the go.

For my needs, this was more than sufficient, as my MacBook typically draws around 80W, leaving plenty of power for my other gadgets. While I have not been able to take this power bank on any flights at this point, I can still speak to its usefulness in travel situations. Unfortunately, there were only a few power outlets in the cabin I was shooting so to make sure my Drone and Camera Batteries were topped off, I used this power bank, and it was a lifesaver. The built-in cables were a lifesaver, as I didn’t have to rummage through my bag for loose cords or worry about forgetting them at home. The retractable cable’s 2.3-foot length was ideal for reaching my devices comfortably.
