The story behind Ironwood Hollow Leather Co.

Ironwood Hollow is a two-person leather shop in East Tennessee. It started with a belt that wouldn't stay together and the stubborn idea that we could make a better one ourselves.

We work in full-grain cowhide, cut every piece by hand and saddle-stitch the seams with waxed thread so they hold up. The leather darkens and softens with use, and that's the point: these are made to be carried for years.

This is a sample shop created by Wildscape Outfitters to show how a maker's storefront looks. It isn't a real business, and its products aren't for sale.
